There are many stories about job opportunities in today’s environment that focus on high tech positions like software development, computer simulation, and artificial intelligence. However, there is little recognition of the businesses that turn the results of those jobs into real products. At Momentum Manufacturing Group (MMG) they deploy cutting edge processes utilizing the latest technologies in machining and metal fabrication, which service a vast array of industries.

The session will start with a presentation at Momentum’s headquarters in Georgetown and conclude with a tour of the Evans plant in Topsfield. Our host will be Jim Moroney of Manchester, former Olympian and CEO of Momentum Manufacturing Group.

During this event, we will review Momentum’s manufacturing capabilities from conventional to advanced automation, as well as their own customized robotic cells.  Through a current employee example, we’ll explore the job and job growth opportunities at companies like Momentum, showing how the addition of automation makes possible higher skilled jobs with increased pay for employees without a college degree. It is where the opportunity for growth is limited only by one’s desire to learn more.

MMG has recruiting relationships with tech schools in NH and MA and offers Co-Op opportunities in Engineering, Welding and CNC Operation.  They post Engineering positions on job boards in over 40 colleges and universities in New England and are also on the list of companies that provide transiting military free training for Maintenance, CNC Operation, Welding and Robotics.  MMG has provided state funded training classes in blueprint reading and shop math for their employees and are working on obtaining state funds to send our operators off-site for training through Amada (world's leading innovator of sheet metal fabrication equipment).

Additional Speakers:
