Julie Gibbs, Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Osram Sylvania

Julie serves as Co-Chair of the Women’s Initiative of the North Shore Technology Council.  Ms. Gibbs is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Osram Sylvania in R&D Lighting Concepts.  Prior to her work at Osram  Sylvania, Ms. Gibbs served as the Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Kentucky Bearings and Seals Laboratory and as a Fellow at the National Science Foundation Algebra Cubed Grant.

Ms. Gibbs holds an B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky.  Her publications and presentations include “An Experimental Study of Surface Textured Thrust Bearings in Hydrostatic Lubrication” at the ROTRIB ’07 10th International Conference on Tribology at Bucharest, Romania, and “Design and Use of an Experimental Test Rig for Microasperity Laden Thrust Rings” at the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers Annual Meeting in 2006 at Calgary, Canada. As a woman in the field of science and technology, Julie is a wonderful leader and advocate for the Women’s Initiative.

Erin Bouthiette, Director of Business Solutions, Relational IT

Erin is the new incumbent Co-Chair, of the Women’s Initiative of the North Shore Technology Council, where she also serves on the operations board. Ms. Bouthiette has over 10 years experience in the Staffing and Consulting industry with significant knowledge in the IT industry and delivers an honest, refreshing, and knowledgeable approach to her client, contractor, and peer relationships. As the Director of Business Solutions for Relational IT, Erin oversees all sales, recruiting and business solution deliverables across the firm’s broad spectrum of clients.

Ms. Bouthiette holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Psychology from Saint Michael’s College in VT. Throughout Erin’s career, she has consistently and effectively developed long term client relationships into partnerships that have served her clients and consultants well. Ms. Bouthiette has been a life-long proponent of improving the number and status of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
