The Women's Initiative

The Women’s Initiative Special Interest Group strives to facilitate connections among industry sectors for the purpose of promoting and supporting women in technology in the North of Boston region of Massachusetts.

Women continue to be underrepresented in the science and technology fields at all levels.  This underrepresentation is especially acute at the managerial, executive, board, entrepreneurial, and tenure levels.  Further, it is well documented that the United States lags behind other countries in the number of students — both male and female — entering science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.

The NSTC Women’s Initiative seeks to “join the conversation” by facilitating connections among like-minded organizations in order to foster relationships, education, mentorships, access, and – eventually – the full inclusion of women in technology fields at all levels.

We strive to bring value to our members by providing:

  • Access to a special interest group that focuses on issues of particular interest to and/or have specific impacts on women in technology;
  • Conscious integration of women in Women’s Initiative events and activities;
  • Participation in and witness to greater showcasing of women in technology;
  • A platform by which men and women can demonstrate their technology expertise

The Women’s Initiative offers a variety of events and networking opportunities for women and men from technology companies, universities and colleges, non-profit organizations, students, and other technology trade organizations who share our vision.
