The Sustainability Forum explores and promotes ways that technology can help improve our quality of life. The group brings together technologists, environmentalists, business members, academics and others to identify, explore and create new solutions in sustainability in this vital region north of Boston.
The group meets monthly, typically the first Wednesday of every month at 8 a.m. The open meetings include prominent speakers covering a range of important issues, technologies and ideas. Past speakers have brought insights into green chemistry, marine renewable energy, data center efficiencies, corporate sustainability initiatives, local environmental conditions and more.
The Cleantech InnoVenture Center (CIVC) is the location for the Forum’s monthly gatherings. CIVC, a business incubator managed by North Shore InnoVentures, supports emerging clean-tech companies. Its professional mentor services include: sales/marketing, legal, public relations, intellectual property, finance, accounting, operations and human resources. Financial networking is also a key element of the CIVC program and is facilitated by associations with angel investors as well as the Lynn Economic Development and Industrial Corporation and industry affiliations with organizations such as the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems, the Mass Clean Energy Center, New England Clean Energy Council, and ACTION – the Association of Cleantech Incubators of New England.
