Description

Littoral Power Systems was formed in 2014 to address the problem of cost in modern ocean and inland hydropower. Harvesting clean energy from currents and waves offers exceptional promise, but only if it can be done in a commercially viable and ecologically sound manner. There is tremendous harvestable power in tidal and river currents as well as inland run-of-river hydropower, but the economics of installations to date have been severely hampered by out-of-control installation and maintenance costs. LPS is in the process of designing, manufacturing and selling tidal and river and wave power equipment, but is also active in renewable energy development utilizing third party equipment. It will work as an outside developer or joint venture with local municipalities, conditioned on getting government-backed power power-purchase contracts with local utilities.
