NSTC Launches STEM Special Interest Group

The need for a focus on STEM is clear:

  • In the North Shore region, 16 of the 20 fastest growing occupations are in STEM-related fields and most of these will require some college
  • 15 out of 20 of these jobs will require a BA degree or more
  • 300,000 is the number of STEM-related jobs that Massachusetts will have to fill by 2018

Investment in K-12 STEM education will help keep our economy competitive and support NSTC member growth.

Join the North Shore Technology Council as it sets plans for its STEM outreach and hears from Joyce Plotkin, President Emeritus of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council and current Chairman and CEO of Digits, who will speak about how investment in K-12 STEM education will keep our economy competitive and provide good jobs for future generations. Thursday, November 8, 5:30 – 7:00 PM. North Shore Community College Health Professionals and Student Services Building, Room 106, 1 Ferncroft Road, Danvers, MA. Register for this event at www.nstc.org. Registration is free and open to the public.
