Based on its Organs-on-Chips technology, Emulate has created a new living system that emulates human biology for understanding how different diseases, medicines, chemicals and food may affect human health.
Emulate is able to control critical aspects of the living cellular microenvironment within the Organs-on-Chips, designed to fully recreate the complex, dynamic state in which living cells function within a real human organ. This unique design approach enables Emulate to accurately recreate and modulate human biology and disease states to gain a better understanding of human biology for the development of improved therapeutics, personalized health, and subsequent reduction of the need for animal testing.

Remi Villenave, Principal Investigator- R&D Lead, Emulate
Remi Villenave started his academic training at Queens University Belfast and dedicated his PhD to the development of a new model of Respiratory Syncytial Virus infection based on differentiated primary airway epithelial cells, which recapitulated hallmarks of the disease in children. Following a first post-doctoral training where he acquired a strong expertise in human airway epithelium biology and mucosal immunity applied to 3D modeling of airway tissues and host pathogen interaction, Remi accepted a role at the Wyss Institute in Harvard, in Don Ingbers lab, to apply his expertise of human airway epithelium biology to the development of a new Lung Airway-Chip model. After successfully developing the new Airway-Chip platform Remi joined Emulates founding scientific team to further develop and apply the Organs-on-Chips technology to respiratory and infectious diseases.

Gregory Williams, Vice President & General Counsel, Emulate
Greg Williams is Vice President and General Counsel for Emulate. Formerly, Williams was a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton LLP, with a focus on
numerous IP activities, including, patent, trademark, acquisition and management, strategy, licensing, technology transfer and strategic alliance. Previously, he served for a more than 15 years as general counsel and a senior member of the global business development team for New England Biolabs. He received his B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from McGill University, earned his law degree from McGill and earned a Masters of Law (LL.M.) with specialization in intellectual property and anti-trust law from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
